Introduction

I feel like for my first post I should probably introduce myself a bit. I am currently a senior in highschool. I just finished up my final season of volleyball, but my true passion is approaching quickly. Track. Track has brought me just about every emotion possible, but most of all joy. It has brought with it a freedom that cannot be explained unless you also have felt the rush it brings. When I am running, nothing can catch me. The pressures of school, the words people say, or the lies this world gives without being asked have no place when I slip on my tennis shoes. I step on the track and it all fades away. All that matters is pushing and fighting against the clock and my head that tells me it is too difficult. And the happiness those few seconds shaved off my time brings along with it is something so satisfying. It is the reward of perseverance and pain. This sport has made me into a fighter and a competitor who will not go down without a fight in everyday life.

Another passion of mine is fashion. Next year I plan to minor in Fashion Merchandising. I am planning to become a Wardrobe Consultant. I take my fashion very seriously, no joke;). I have many rules for myself regarding what I am allowed to wear to school. How I present myself is a high priority in my life. I have a strong desire to be original and if I am being dramatic, I may be allergic to basic. I like to think I have the ability to find value in an item of clothing no one else would have noticed has potential and make it an essential piece to the perfect outfit. I have an eye to find beauty in things that people don’t find worth in. This goes not only for fashion, but for people. This is why grace is such an important aspect of my life. I want people to feel the same freedom I do through running when they realize the freedom that can come from a God who loves them like they’ve never been loved before.

If you have not figured out already, I also love to write. I will be majoring in journalism next fall. Up until more recently, I mostly just produced poetry, but through my Creative Writing class this year I am developing as a writer. I have now written many short stories and of course improved my poems. I have made the choice to continue my growth as a writer while also combining it with my true passions. Running with the freedom it displays, fashion revealing the value in the unnoticed, and Jesus providing a purpose for all of this.

I hope you have learned a bit about me and become more intrigued as to what my blog will grow into. I am so excited to get started and see where it goes. Thank you for your interest!:)
